I have been 20+ years building, motivating, and growing teams in three different countries, and the most challenging areas for individuals are related to their people's skills.
In the transition from being a good professional to becoming a manager, team leader, or supervisor, there are certain skills that need to be developed to achieve good results from our teams.
We must be open and flexible enough to properly adapt to the new role, we have to learn efficiently delegation and motivation, managing difficult people, and influencing others to cooperate with us.
These skills are not taught in Schools of Colleges. They are learned and mastered with intention and experience. I missed the opportunity of counting on an experienced coach to support, guide, challenge, and hold me accountable in this process.
