Ian is a recognized subject matter expert on purchasing management, with rich experience, outstanding purchasing skills, senior leadership roles and great achievements in both group purchasing organization and China purchasing organization. His broad knowledge and experience includes global category management, global business unit purchasing, product line purchasing, project purchasing and best cost country sourcing.
He has more than 20 years' work experience with renowned multi-national companies, including four years’ overseas experience in the United Kingdom and Norway.
Ian has now confidently started a business consulting company, aiming to work with Customers to improve market competitiveness by driving continuous improvement in overall purchasing cost control, purchasing management system and supplier quality management system with full value chain and Total Cost Ownership approach, and risks controls.
Ian graduated from Shanghai Institute of Building Materials (already merged into Tongji University), majoring in industrial automation. He obtained trainings from EIPM, i.e. European Institute of Purchasing Management. He received Group Excellence Awards from SKF Group for outstanding achievements of driving purchasing cost down.
