Coaching Expertise Description

As a leader who believes in creating a collaborative environment based on knowledge and idea sharing and ongoing mentoring, I've successfully created teams which are engaged and take ownership of their work. This naturally leads to succession planning. A real example of this is prior to my departure from the expatriate GM position in Kuwait and Bahrain, I began a mentoring program three levels deep to ensure that team members would be qualified to step into new positions. Three promotions occurred after my departure and the organization was recognized several times by both the company, airport authority and U.S. Embassy for dramatic improvement in areas related to operational performance, service and employee ownership.

While in management roles, I've always been the person selected to facilitate the difficult discussions with team members related to performance and discipline. This is one aspect of being a leader that has never intimated me. Likely, because of my inclusive and respectful approach which follows a practical format to ensure that there is a positive outcome for both parties.

When I began coach training in 2010, I realized that I had been managing with a coaching approach and creating a coaching culture. In all locations, this made my responsibilities easier as a leader as I had a fully engaged and empowered team. As a executive coach, I inspire my clients to step out, connect, engage and empower. They are thrilled with the positive changes in themselves and their organizations once they start doing this.
