Clancey co-founded Empirik Health (谙康) in 2016, assembling a team of seasoned healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive advisory services to investors and operators in China's competitive and rapidly evolving healthcare services and senior care environment. Prior to this, they served as the CEO of Chinaco Healthcare Corporation (CHC), founded by HCA co-founder Dr. Thomas Frist, Jr. In this role, Clancey oversaw all aspects of CHC's operations in the China market, from strategy development to hospital acquisition, opening, and operations, and served as Chairman of the Board at both CHC hospitals. Before joining CHC, they launched and served as Managing Director for inVentiv Health Communications/China, part of inVentiv Health (now Syneos), a top-tier professional services organization that accelerates the clinical and commercial success of biopharmaceutical companies. Clancey also spent a decade at the global communications group WPP, leading teams across China and then Asia Pacific, specializing in crisis counsel and strategic integrated communications for clients across a wide variety of industries. Their career began with consultancy Pacific Rim Resources, providing market research, competitor analysis, regulatory advice, and joint venture partner advisory services for Fortune 500 corporations entering the China market in the 1990s.
