Claude Xi is a professional sales leader in Shanghai. In his over 20 years of experience, Claude has worked in three US companies, 3M, Gore and HV for selling high value high tech industrial products/solutions to various industry. The skill sets and methodologies for selling those high value products are key strength for a professional sales leader like Claude, which he has practiced, demonstrated by himself and trained his sales team. His industrial experiences include Automotive, Electronics, Medical Devices, Filters, and some other industries. His sales region has covered China region initially then later on Asia pacific regions, including Japan, Korea, Taiwan and South East Asia regions.
Being a successful sales leader, there are other skill sets required to accomplish daily job, such as strategic planning, sales target setting, negotiation and leadership skill. Claude has been well trained and practiced these key skill and tactics during his career times. The business scale has been grown from 500K USD annual target as an individual sales engineer to the scale of 70 MM USD as sales leader, by leading a sales team of 25 people. At each stage of sales leadership development, it required sale professional to possess adequate knowledge and skill sets.
Doing B2B business in China is a challenge and dynamic process and challenge environment. Claude obtained a lot of hands on experiences through the time frame from mid 90’s to current days. Claude also witnessed the tremendous development/change of many industries and manufactures happened in China. In his experience, Claude had done both direct selling and channel selling in several his business practice.
For education background, Claude got his bachelor degree in East China University of Science and Technology in Chemical Engineering in Shanghai, China in 1993. Then later on, Claude earned his master degree in McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada in 2003. Besides Mandarin, Claude is fluent in English for communication. Due to his working experience and education background, Claude has a big hobby in history and culture diversity. Also, his is a long time runner, doing running long time ago for recreation and for fun. Finished his first half marathon in 2011 and first full marathon in 2019.

From 1996 to 2007, Claude had worked in 3M China for 3 divisions, 3 different roles from a front line sales representatives to Sr. Marketing and last the sales managers. Claude had gone through many training session provided by 3M for selling skill, leadership skill and certain job skill trainings. Meanwhile, there were several high leaders and boss in 3M also gave Claude coaching and helping on some of skills, such as influencing skill, set up higher goals, and raising the bar, ect. It was a great journey for Claude to be more capable and success in his job.
From 2007 to 2011, Claude had worked in Gore company, staring as a BD manager then promoted to be an AP sales leaders. Claude had a lot of hands on experience as a new leader and training/coaching provided by company to grow up.
From 2011 to 2019, Claude joined HV company to be the sales director for whole APAC region. It was a very challenge role as a new joined leader, facing a big business challenge and whole new company. The journey for Claude to quickly drive business growth and earn team’s trust was a great treasure for leadership development. Claude is willing to share his learning and lesson with other people for their sake of leadership development.
